Child Safety Standards

BATCH is a dating service for adults aged 18 and over. We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) absolutely, and we prohibit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) absolutely. There is no context in which either is permitted on BATCH, and no appeal against removal for it.

This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how we enforce them, and how to reach us.

1. BATCH is for adults only

BATCH is not directed to children and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use it.

  • Creating an account requires a date of birth. Anyone whose date of birth places them under 18 cannot complete sign-up.
  • Members may optionally verify their identity with a photo of a government ID and a selfie, reviewed by our team.
  • Age preferences are floored at 18 on our servers. No member can set their age range to include anyone under 18.
  • If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it and delete the associated personal information.

2. What is prohibited

The following are banned on BATCH and result in immediate, permanent removal:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form, including drawn, computer-generated or AI-generated depictions.
  • Sexualisation of a minor in text, images, or profile content.
  • Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Use of BATCH by anyone under 18.
  • Sharing, requesting, or linking to CSAE material anywhere on or through the service.

3. How we prevent it

  • Photo moderation. Images uploaded to BATCH — profile photos, verification photos, and photos sent in chat — are scanned automatically for explicit content before they are stored, and rejected if flagged.
  • Identity verification. Members can verify with a government ID and a selfie. Verified status is shown on the profile.
  • Human matchmaking. Matches are made by people, not an algorithm. Every match is the result of a member reading two profiles.
  • Server-enforced age floor. The 18+ boundary on age preferences is applied on our servers, not in the app, so it cannot be bypassed by a modified client.

4. How to report

Any member can report any profile from inside the app. Open the profile, tap the flag icon, and choose a reason — “Underage user” and “Inappropriate content” are both listed explicitly. Reporting is available wherever profiles are shown, including in chat and while browsing as a Batchmaker. Reports are confidential.

Reports can also be sent directly to Elijahbennion@batch.site at any time, including by people who do not have a BATCH account.

5. How we respond

  • Reports concerning child safety are prioritised above all other reports.
  • Accounts reported for CSAE are suspended while we review, not after.
  • Confirmed CSAE results in permanent removal of the account and preservation of the associated records.
  • We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by US law, and we cooperate with law enforcement requests.
  • We do not restore accounts removed for CSAE.

6. Compliance

BATCH complies with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where it operates, including US federal reporting obligations for apparent CSAM. We comply with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy and with its CSAE policy.
