Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the BATCH mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by BATCH (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use BATCH. The Service is currently intended for users in Utah and surrounding areas. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Account Registration & Security

You must create an account and provide accurate, current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.

3. Description of the Service

BATCH is a human-powered matchmaking platform. Volunteer “Batchers” review profiles and facilitate introductions. Matching is chat-first: once introduced, users may message and then choose to accept or decline further interaction. There is no “pending” match status that requires mutual acceptance before conversation can begin.

  • Free tier: Limited number of active matches.
  • Premium subscription: Higher match limits and additional features (including access to select Batchers where available).

We do not guarantee any number of matches, the quality of matches, or that any match will result in a relationship, date, or further contact.

4. Batchers

Batchers are independent volunteers. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of BATCH for purposes of employment, agency, or partnership law. Batchers earn recognition, badges, and points based on activity and reported match outcomes; they receive no monetary compensation from BATCH. BATCH does not control or guarantee the decisions, recommendations, or quality of any Batcher’s work. You interact with Batchers and other users at your own risk.

5. User Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful, respectful purposes. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or discrimination
  • Sharing explicit, pornographic, or non-consensual intimate content
  • Impersonation, catfishing, or providing false information
  • Soliciting money, scams, commercial spam, or multi-level marketing
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service
  • Using the Service while banned or creating multiple accounts to evade restrictions
  • Any activity that could harm other users, Batchers, or BATCH
  • Human trafficking of any kind, including sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, commercial sexual services, or the exploitation of minors
  • Aiding, abetting, facilitating, or encouraging abuse, exploitation, violence, or self-harm, whether directed at another user or a third party
  • Coercing, grooming, or attempting to lure any person into exploitative, abusive, or commercial sexual activity

We may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

6. Safety & Interactions

BATCH is a platform that connects people. Before you can invite a match on a date, you must verify your identity: a photo of a government ID and a selfie, reviewed by our team. Until you have, you can create a profile, be matched, and chat with your matches — you cannot arrange a date through the Service.

We do not conduct criminal background checks. Verification confirms that you are who you say you are and that you are 18 or over. It is not a judgement of character, and it does not guarantee the safety or intentions of any member or Batchmaker. You are responsible for your own interactions, both on and off the Service. Exercise caution when meeting in person, sharing personal information, or exchanging contact details. Report suspicious or harmful behaviour through the in-app reporting tools or by contacting us.

7. Subscriptions, Payments & Refunds

BATCH is free to use. BATCH Premium is an optional upgrade. Every plan unlocks the same features; they differ only in price and in how long they last.

On batch.site, Premium is sold in three ways. Payments are processed by Stripe through our payments provider, RevenueCat.

  • Monthly — $9.99 USD. Billed in advance each month and renews automatically until you cancel. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for.
  • 2 years — $75.99 USD. A single payment covering 24 months. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel; access ends 24 months after purchase.
  • Lifetime — $99.99 USD. A single payment. It does not renew, it does not expire, and there is nothing further to pay.

In the iOS and Android apps, Premium is sold only as a monthly subscription at $15.99 USD per month, billed by Apple or Google, who take a share of every in-app purchase. It renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account.

Refunds for purchases made in the apps are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. Refunds for purchases made on batch.site are handled by us — see our Refund Policy. We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial months except where required by law.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by BATCH or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission. You retain ownership of content you post, but grant BATCH a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content solely for operating and improving the Service.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information. By using BATCH you consent to those practices.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT MATCHES WILL BE SUCCESSFUL, THAT BATCHERS WILL PERFORM TO ANY STANDARD, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BATCH AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND VOLUNTEERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $100 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US ANYTHING).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BATCH and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your interactions with other users or Batchers, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms or if we decide to discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends and we may delete your account and content in accordance with our data retention practices.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah. You consent to personal jurisdiction there.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version and update the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
